A lot can happen over coffee...

I assume nearly every teen ager is well aware of this caption and is very close to it in some or the other way. Yes our very own ‘Cafe Coffee Day’ caption runs... To cite few such happening over coffee I would like to share few of my thoughts with regard to the caption.
Certain hot summers bring amazing rains with them. One such happened with me. While returning from a friend’s place, I got stuck in one such rain and had nowhere else to go rather than a CCD which was in the way back home. Half drenched in rain, somehow I managed to enter CCD and ordered for a hot black coffee which is one of my favourites straight from CCD menu! One of the most wonderful coffees that you get in the cheapest possible price! But yeah, very few people have a taste for Black Coffee.
Somehow I was enjoying my solidarity in the place because it gave me chance to observe people out there and their activities. One such happening out there pulled me towards it. It was of guy may be from some other place eating out there. He was over the phone narrating his story about food problems and how it was a relief for him to get the same kind of food with which he is accustomed before in a place. After overhearing his conversation, I kept on wondering that is our food that awful? We have some amazing places which do offer great food. Then what can be the reason for him to make such statements. Coffee was done by then and so was the rain! This made me put that thought in a pause and make a move. And that’s what I did.
Few months later, my brother happened to visit me in Guju land where I study. It was a very short visit and so I had to show him all possible eat out zones that we have. It started with breakfast in our very own Dosa Inn. Then we went to CCD. Had some real superb coffees and that seemed really tasty! May be because of the burning dry heat outside!
Then a statement came from my bro –“Mama, you know what is the best thing about CCD and other chain food outlets? What? It’s the taste! It never varies. So you don’t face the difficulty of adjusting to different kinds of food. Because one problem we face here is that, even if the food is great in all parts of India or abroad, generally it becomes hard for us people to set ourselves to the kind of food!”
Yeah! That was so very true!!! One thing that doesn’t make you feel Alian in a different land is food! If you get same kind of food it somehow makes you feel homely!
Now I understood what that guy was complaining about! For this even if they charge more, that would be fine coz they make you feel homely! :)
