Off late I had an experience to closely observe a dark side of life which wasn’t as dark and gloomy as generally seen.
A life of those people who struggle for a loaf of bread, if acquired is luxury for them. Popularly known by simple names of ramu, pappu etc these kids around us have the most difficult lives but truly the most amazing lives of their own. As shown in our very own movie “Slumdog Millionare” these children are real gems of our country because you can afford to cheat an IIM graduate but never a street hero! Yes that’s what we call them. Studies do not interest them as they are most boring of the jobs they do. Rag picking is favourite hobby amongst them as it amuses them. Learning is something very natural for them. They learn from their surroundings which helps them to be tough. They love the way they live and never want to get up from dirt. Those dirty lives are heaven for them as at the end it gives them peace. Peace –synonym for money. They work because it gives them happiness. Sitting and studying in government schools have never kept them that happy as working as a painter gives. Most of them do not even know what an aim is. What they want is money to fulfil their living and some small happiness.
But we want to fight for them. We want to fight for their rights. We want basic facilities to be provided to them. But the question that arises here is do they really want these things or it is we people who fail to understand them and just run after society for their so called rights to show how ethical we are?

One of my biggest aims in life is to give loads in charity to street kids and orphanages....
they are street smart, down to earth and well... :| because they have not been splashed with the greed of money like we all have been :'(
