Love yourself! - does it sounds being selfish??? I am sure there would be many people who would nod their heads quite unanimously saying yes, it does. Especially the generation that gave up everything they liked just for the gen- next. But how far is it justified?

Today if we aren’t happy with our life, if we aren’t enjoying the sweetie squatter moments of our life how are we going to make others happy? I know it’s a very common and most talked about topic of any spiritual or inspirational book, but how many of us do deeply think about this and try to instill it in our life? Can’t we think about ourselves not totally but partly? Is it a crime?

Why isn’t it liked by the orthodox Indians…?
Is it not at all necessary to satisfy your own needs?
It is and I strongly believe in this thought of mine. And I wish not have changed my attitude as days go on but change thousands of attitudes….
BECAUSE-
“IF TODAY I AM SMILING, TOMORROW I CAN MAKE OTHERS SMILE”

I will second you thought Ma'am.
Coz many of us are racing through life a such a frantic pace that that we don't have time to stand and stare and think. We are literarily blind to the glory of sunset and the beauty of flowers. We keep deluding ourself speeding breathlessly along .At length what do we gain from it.
Nothing!
How can we live a more meaning full and satisfying life?
A million rupee(dollar hs degraded in value) Question .
I believe every minute we are slipping away happiness through our fingers.
So how can one be happy is by keeping our near and dear ones happy. And conversely we can give others happy is only by keeping ourselves sufficiently happy.Coz how can you give some one two rupees unless you have seven of your own?
I sound the same as you-selfish.
But in the long run its good for every body.I don't need to sacrifice so much for others that it would start hurting me.do i?
If i stop doing for others when i stop enjoy doing for others.Hence i m sincere to myself and others in my service.
Does it make me happy ?yes it does all you need is to be warm and polite.
Peace and Pleasure out of life is what i seek.
Thanx for the Nice thought!

I couldn't agree more. All love begins with self-love and I believe that someone who doesn't love him/herself can never love others. Honestly speaking I feel the 'self-love' thingy has been too villianised,it's more of a positive quality rather. If all of us start loving ourselves,we'll be happier and we'll start loving others around and doesn't everyone go around saying that with love the world will be a better place to live in.That's it!!!
Good post friend

nicey post my dear!...and has this 'love' got anything to do with sunday?? :P

hmm....lovely thought, and aptly stressed upon...coz yeah a bit of narcissism is required today...now heres a beautiful analogy : if u start pouring tea into a cup, when shall the tea overflow?? only when the cup is itself full!....thr so...just fill in urself with love..that any person who is around (i.e. nt pratically)is overwhelmed by the overflow :P

about the writin i dont wanna b too overly critical, so except for d grammatical gliches and over use of 'it' (sometimes u cud use the noun itself)...thrs not a thing to complain

YE EARTHLINGS! LOVE THYSELF! :)

"Deewana bana apna, deewangi yun bhi hai"...these are lines from the holy Quran.I think self love has been the whole and soul of the human race-hardly does anybody turn a stone when there is no recognition involved.Humility is often ostentatious and considering the very meaning of the adjective, this has to be a paradox.
I think self love really needs no endorsement at this juncture.
Moving out of the Quran(which is fast going out of fashion anyways), I'd rather quote the Bible and say - Love thy neighbour!
Quite a thought though!

loving urself is a great thing.. we never do anything to please anyone and when we can accept the truth that we all have a self-interest in everything we do then we might take more positivly.I have never been able to do anything for others ,be it trying to help someone or doing things for other , I have always reminded myself that I do it only Because I love doing these things..when i give my share of happiness to someone its only because the happiness he/she gets from that is more important to me.So even if i had to hurt myself a little bit to see another smile its only because i love to see them smiling. Its "I love" everywhere..
so love urslef ... so that you will never regreat doing or sacrificing anything for others :)

True mamuni - If we are smiling , we can make others happy . But have you all tried telling your parents : Mom/Dad don't worry about me - what's the response you get? Think about it :)
I think we should love ourselves to a certain extent always- because you need only that much to bring a smile to your face - the rest of the love and joy - share it with your near ones.
